COMMENTS
Drifter has been ours for just a year now. It was built
in 1971 and has had a few alterations. Having originally had an inboard engine
and fuel tank, we inherited an unreliable outboard engine, with pull start,
which we replaced last year with a new Honda 8hp outboard - electric start,
much easier on the arms and blood pressure!
We moor on the River Nene at Willy Watt Marina near
Ringstead in Northants. At the moment we are just intending to spruce her up
for the summer - repainting the anti-slip area etc. We have no great plans, as
we just love tootling up and down our stretch with family and friends,
picnicking here and there. We usually go either towards Irthlingborough or the
other way to Thrapston. We may have a few overnight stops and possibly part of
a week in the summer- venturing as far as Oundle ! Our son would like to spend
his first anniversary aboard, too - as would his wife, I should add.
Maybe when we retire in a few years we'll take the time
to go a bit further.
